First Stake Created In Trinidad & Tobago

The first stake of Trinidad was organized March 1, 2009 with 6 wards and two branches (Chaguanas and Princes Town). The branches of Siparia, Point Fortin and Tobago are not in the Port of Spain, Trinidad Stake but rather are mission dependent branches.

Under special assignment of the Brethren, Elder Neil L. Andersen, Senior President of the Seventy, and Elder Francisco J. Vinas, First Counselor in the Caribbean Area Presidency created the stake. This is a first for not only Trinidad, but also for the entire West Indies
